Iron (Fe) is a very important for human body metal. It becomes oxidized glucose energy because without it we could not perform daily tasks, or indeed, any activity.

In addition to providing enough energy to live, iron is responsible for carrying oxygen to the blood, this function develops creating hemoglobin-the red- blood cells in combination with proteins.

It also serves to stimulate certain vitamins such as B and C.

Iron deficiency anemia occurs very common even in Western countries and especially in women by blood loss that occurs during menstruation.

Symptoms of anemia include fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, skin pallor, tachycardia, and an overall reduction in defense.

Anemia can also be caused by lack of other metals such as zinc, copper, nickel and cobalt, and vitamin B6 and B12.

Iron is classified as one Hémico- that comes from meat and animal kingdom-and not Hemic, from the vegetable kingdom.
Heme iron is absorbed by 20-30%, while non-heme iron is absorbed in a much smaller, around 3% -8%.

The Hemic not acquired it in various plant sources, first vegetables like beets, alfalfa, green beans and peas.
Among the nuts also found high doses of iron, specifically almonds, cashews, lupins, coconut and peanuts.
Among fruits figs and strawberries. Legumes are the queens of iron-chickpeas, beans, soybeans and lentils.
Seaweeds also provide iron and brewer’s yeast, which also provides folic acid, essential in combination with iron and vitamin B12.

When not consume it accumulates in the bone marrow, liver and spleen, as a reserve for when there is a shortage. On the other hand if your intake is excessive and the body builds very large doses, it can cause heart disease.
