Giving rest to the traditional Cardio

Posted on August 30, 2013 by in Fitness tips

hula-hulaRecently I’ve been including in my interval training workouts. My cardio workouts consist of what is considered ” traditional cardio ” .

You can run and use the cardio machines in the gym ( treadmills, ellipticals , stationary bikes ) but since I’ve been learning more about the benefits of interval training , I thought I would try a sample routine and everything I can say is wow! Yesterday my workout includes squats, push - , lunges , jumps, and mountain climbers . All done one after another with little rest in between for 3 sets.

If you are stuck in a rut with traditional cardio , there are some good reasons why you may want to consider interval training.

Reasons to incorporate Intervals

Mighty Fat Burner - burn fat is one of the greatest benefits of interval training. Your body burns fat long after the workout is over.

Metabolism Booster - By building muscle mass using intervals , your metabolism will get a major boost because the muscles continue to burn calories even while at rest .

Time Savings - Cloud does not require a lot of your time. An interval training session only requires good 30-45 minutes or so of your time. Can be done every day or at least 3 times per week.

Build strength - Many exercises require intervals of not more than their own body weight. As best , they are also becoming stronger . Imagine finally being able to do push-ups or pull- ups or increase the amount you can already do.

Kiss Goodbye Boredom - Interval training means not become bored with the usual exercises they usually do. There are so many great routines available intervals , you will find fun and challenging exercise .
