Beware of cheap health insurance “low cost”

Posted on December 19, 2013 by in Health care

Improve-Your-HealthFor social networking I receive inquiries about what kind of health insurance is better, companies with better schools or what is the cheapest, questions that I answer based on the limited time available. I remember that a product or service need not necessarily be bad for being cheap and expensive one does not have to be good just for the simple fact cost more than others. To confirm if something is expensive or cheap you really simply compare what you get in return for what you give, basic principle of any good buy. Just as there are things you do not want or given away, others will cost a lot to put a price for everything they pose to you.

Today and driven by the uncertainties that arise in public health ( of which I am a convinced advocate though is improved) in health insurance there is a flurry of activity to attract new policyholders. As if the end of the world and wanted to approach companies submitted their finery to Olympics. Furthermore, these dates are the most likely to bombard you with all sorts of offers health insurance, as insurers typically set renewals of such insurance to early January.

While prices in the field of health in general have remained constant in recent years, despite the costs associated with health services have risen, it no longer serves to attract new policyholders (not the pockets of spanish many frills ). And companies know this, so they have begun to develop safe “low cost” of health, which in itself does not have to be bad, it is an opportunity for some people to have private health insurance that might not otherwise have. Having a wide range from which to choose is always beneficial.

And how? Reversing the trend of recent years when new guarantees and services to attract customers, they were superficial and some of these had little or nothing effective to maintain the health of their insured is included. Now in order to continue to attract new customers they have no choice to start removing weight to policies and segment again. As it is not possible to distribute the entire insurance you sell it for parts. The slogan is ” we do thinking about their needs to contract only what you need.” Do you believe?

Imagine this insurance as an onion (sorry, I have very little imagination ) that in order to reach more people you are removing layers and layers depending on much you want to pay. The problem of health insurance “low cost” is the juiciest removing layers and take them to other little brightness affect your health. This translates into more sub-limits to contracted capital deletions healthcare coverage tables, reduced reimbursement rates, copayments resurgence, increased franchising, etc.. Not forgetting that these health insurance assistance from the insurer is authorized and if cut in revenues guess where to cut expenses easily without a trace in its conditioned. Denying health care practices, and bill you as you can not claim anything, you can just get angry and leave. The insurer will only have lost some customers for cancellations of their contracts, on the other hand are part of the portfolio of clients with claims so make a portfolio selection. Windfall.

Conclusion, who wants something something hard so do not look for shortcuts where there are none. Find companies and individuals with reliable paths, confirms that you understand what you’re signing and accepting, and if you go be costly or complicated to someone with more experience can help you make a decision.
